| Program Description | Blindness and vision impairment place a significant economic burden on families, communities, and society. About 85% of all vision impairment and 75% of blindness globally could be avoided, prevented or cured if properly trained personnel and care facilities existed. As a result of failed guidance millions of children and adults are losing out on educational and productive opportunities. Individuals and families are being pushed into a cycle of deepening poverty because of their eyesight. |
