Program Description	MA in English familiarizes the student with the history of language and literature and focuses on prose, poetry, drama and fiction. There is a good focus on Indian English Literature and touches on North East Indian English Literature, Linguistics, Literary Criticism, Literary Criticism, African, American, European and Post-Colonial Literature and English Language Teaching.
Admission & entry requirements	Eligibility 1. Graduation in any stream with 50% of the aggregate from a UGC Recognized University. 2. Provisional Admission: Applicants who have not yet obtained their Bachelor’s Degree also may apply for admission. Such candidates would be offered provisional admission until they furnish evidence of fulfilling the eligibility criterion stated in (1) above within 3 months of the commencement of the programme.
