Program Description One of the primary purposes of the Ph.D programme is to encourage scholars to undertake research and in-depth analysis and enrich knowledge in their chosen field. it includes the ability to independently apply methodologies of scientific research as well as to create new scientific knowledge. further, the scholars are expected to demonstrate an ability to critically analyze research findings and to understand their importance in the wider contexts and effectively communicate and disseminate research results.
Admission & entry requirements A. Master's degree in Economics from a recognized university with at lest 55% marks (or its equivalent Grade'B' in the UGC 7-point scale or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NCL) differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time. B. Candidates who are in the final year of the Master's degree in Economics are also eligible to apply.
