| Program Description |
Production Engineering has emerged as an independent discipline due to increase catering to the global need. This has also gained a lot of importance due to the onset of Industry 4.0 which includes smart manufacturing and Internet of Things. The program mainly aims at raising the level of knowledge, competence and skill in the broad area of manufacturing Engineering. The course provides exposure and hands on experience in advanced manufacturing technologies such as CAD/CAM, Robotics & Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Non-traditional Manufacturing, Composite and Smart Materials etc. The course curriculum is periodically revised keeping in view the change in global manufacturing scenario and in consultation with manufacturing industries. The program also helps in inculcating research capabilities in students by the introduction of problem-solving projects and industry based projects. The job opportunities of the graduates lie both in core manufacturing sectors as well as in IT sectors.
