Program Description The Department offers 2-Years MSc programmes in Chemistry with two specializations: Industrial Chemistry and Organic Chemistry 1. Industrial Chemistry Specialization Besides the general course in Chemistry, students are encouraged to undertake Industrial specialization, which focuses chiefly on various aspects of application of Chemistry in Industrial processes. The course offers four elective subjects such as Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry of Materials, Materials and Energy balance, and Industrial process which cater to the need of most of the industries in general. Besides, the course offers an industrial training programme as a mandatory subject to enable the students to visit various industries and prepare the report. 2. Organic Chemistry Specialization The 2-Years MSc in Chemistry programme also offers a specialization in Organic Chemistry where the students are offered four elective subjects such as Disconnection approach in Organic Synthesis, Reactions and Reagents in Organic Synthesis, Bioorganic Chemistry, and Supramolecular and macromolecules. Keeping in view of developments in drug analysis and application, polymer synthesis and applications, medicinal chemistry and such related subjects throughout the globe, the specialization plays an important role in upgrading the students in the proper academic, industrial and research area. Students are taught to handle related projects and present seminars in the related fields to enhance their interest and knowledge in the required fields.
