| Program Description |
This programme is designed to generate qualified personnel to handle the rapidly emerging needs in the field of Applied Microbiology. In the present scenario microbiology is acquiring great importance in the context of its applications in food safety, fermentation technology, molecular biology, industrial biotechnology, bio- control of pests and sewage/waste management. The proposed course envisages a coordinated approach by clubbing all the relevant fields which cater for the beneficial use of microbes. A student mastering this course will therefore be able to do independent research or become professional specialist in any of the several areas covered by the curriculum.
