Program Description CIHTS has established the Centre for Teacher Education (CTE), with a commitment to develop Teachers and Teacher Educators in a holistic and integrated ways by providing modern education with philosophy, logic and epistemology which are the traditions of Ancient Nalanda Monastic University. CIHTS has started an integrated four-year innovative B.A.B.Ed./ B.Sc.B.Ed. programme since 2014-15 academic year and B.Ed. programme from 1999. The integrated four-year innovative B.A.B.Ed./ B.Sc.B.Ed. programme has been designed in such a scholarly manner that the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) observed it as the best so far and was not only approved in the first go but also made it as the model course for others. CTE, CIHTS also has the approval from NCTE for its 2 year Innovative M.Ed. curriculum in 2018. Besides the regular subjects prescribed by NCTE, the curriculum for all courses has “Tibetan language and Literature” as compulsory subject. This paper helps to develop the competence in Tibetan language and also preserve and carry the grate cultural heritage of Tibetans people living in Himalayan region. Another compulsory paper “Fundamentals of Buddhist Logic, Psychology and Cognitive Science” which deal with the Tibetan Methodology of Teaching –Learning, helps the learner to acquire the necessary skills to teach the subject through logic and concept development.
Admission & entry requirements The candidate should have passed with 50% in their UG program with keen enthusiasm to become a teacher in their life. During the UG program, the candidate should have studied at least one Tibetan language.
