Professional laboratory technicians and technologists run diagnostic tests on tissue, blood and body fluid samples that can be used to aid in the diagnosis or monitor medical conditions. Medical labs play a vital role in the healthcare sector. However, they are struggling with a lack of quality human resources who can work as per the instructions provided. Swarrnim Institute of Health Sciences has introduced a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology to overcome the demand and supply gap of medical lab technicians. The medical lab technicians under Technologists or supervisors do the testing manually and operate machines that automatically analyze samples. This is a crucial profile for the healthcare industry. In addition to running tests, technicians set up and maintain laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges, microscopes, etc. and prepare standard solutions for use in the laboratories. The technician is the backbone of a medical testing laboratory. Much of the excitement in this field surrounds the problem-solving and diagnosis of medical illnesses. |
