BA, BA (Special) Minimum Age 15½ years on July 15. Eligibility 12-yr. Higher Sec from Board of Higher Secondary Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, or equivalent. Duration 3 yrs with an exam for Part I (Tamil or an alternative language) and Part II (English) at the end of the I and II years and exam for Part III (Main and Ancillary subjects) at the end of the I, II and III years. Subjects Compulsory Part I a language other than Eng. Part II Eng. Part III consists of two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A shall consist of the main subject or group of subjects while group B shall comprise the study of an ancillary subject or subjects appropriate to the main subject of study. Group A Main Econ, Geog, Hist, Ind Culture, Lang (Eng or Tamil), Phil, Pol, Sociol Social Sc, Specialized study of Tamil; Tourism. Group B Ancillary any two of the following subjects appropriate to the main subject. This will not apply to Social Science, Sociology and to languages of Eng & Tamil and specialized study of Tamil; Comm; Elements of Econ, Stats, Hist, Lang; Mod Govts; Gen. Econ; Geog; Accountancy; Indl Relations, Social Welfare Admn and Human Geog.
