Program Description	To acquire basic knowledge in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, to apply them to the understanding and application of materials as well as to be trained to teach Physics.
Admission & entry requirements	B.Sc. degree of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as one of the optional/ major/special subject with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/Category-I) are eligible to apply for admission to M.Sc. in Materials Science Programme. The candidates should have secured 45% aggregate marks in the other optional subjects also. The candidates who have not studied Chemistry at the undergraduate level must have studied Chemistry at P.U.C./Higher Secondary level.
