Program Description The course aims to open new vistas of opportunities to the learners by helping them enhance their communicative competence. There is an emerging consensus on the fact that effective communication is the cornerstone of success in life. A person with excellent communication skills has an edge over others, basks in the glory of success and finds fulfillment at every stage of life. Hence, following the learner-centric pedagogy, the six-month certificate course will give an opportunity to the participants to hone their linguistic proficiency to craft and deliver clear, concise, and convincing messages to advance their ideas and build interpersonal relations at the social, academic and professional platforms. The course has been designed to achieve the following objectives: 1) To understand the concept and importance of communication skills. 2) To engage in meaningful conversations in diverse settings using variety and range of lexical resources and expressions. 3) To discover the potential of non-verbal communication to convey emotional states, provide feedback to others and express themselves through appropriate body language. 4) To develop critical thinking with regard to message analysis. 5) To perform various communicative functions such as asking questions, making requests, giving suggestions, expressing greetings etc. 6) To apply key communication methods and techniques to present ideas, data and information in an organized and cohesive manner. 7) To compose effective business communications like emails, presentations, and reports. 8) To master the techniques of public speaking, including content development, projection, inflection, and delivery. 9) To enhance the learners’ level of confidence and their ability to influence people with memorable communication.
Admission & entry requirements 10+2 in Non-Medical/Medical/Commerce/Humanities or its equivalent examination stream conducted by Board recognized or established by Central/State Government through a legislation.
