Owing to the significant contribution of rural sector in accelerating the overall economic expansion of the nation, The School of Business Management and commerce of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala is planning to commence a certificate course in Rural Management from the upcoming session. India’s dream to establish herself as a robust economy cannot be realised without the development of Rural Sector. Hence to transform the rural sector into a highly competent and efficient human resource, expertise in the management of rural sector is essential. The programme’s mission is to help the learners enhance their proficiency to develop rural sector along with their professional growth and educate students with high quality theoretical, practical, ethical, technological and skill-oriented education in the area of rural sector. This course focuses on context specific development issues of rural areas and equips students to tackle these issues with appropriate strategies and approaches along with the development and use of appropriate monitoring, evaluation and management tools for implementing these projects and programs.
