Program Description	As a branch of Social Science, Sociology deals with the study of society as a whole and the interrelationship between the individual and the society in particular. The course will enable the learners to realize their social roles as members of the society. Accordingly, the learner who takes up this programme will be introduced to different theories as well as branches of Sociology, followed by application of the theoretical knowledge in fieldwork. As such, the programme prepares the learner for a wider view of the society and its different aspects. Career Prospects : Academics, Administration, NGOs, Social welfare and Policy making.
Admission & entry requirements	Master of Arts (MA) (Assamese, English, Education, Political Science, Sociology, Economics) Eligibility Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with the subjects at Bachelor at Bachelor Level. Candidates having B.Ed. Degree are eligible to get admission in MA Education. Duration 2 years (4 Semesters).
