Program Description The PhD programme in Human Sciences is aimed at talented individuals who are interested in the development of new methodologies and epistemologies in a dynamic environment that is not bound by singular disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The world around us is changing in radical ways, often leaving us lost for precedent. The first two decades of the 21st century have already shown us that this new millennium will be fundamentally different in both its challenges as well as its possibilities. We invite researchers and curious minds who want to study the world Humans build and the worlds they inhabit in our innovative new PhD in Human Sciences programme. The programme will provide researchers the opportunity to be trained rigorously in the methods of legacy HS disciplines in confluence with strong institutional support to think about multidisciplinary approaches. We encourage researchers who want to work at the confluence of Human Sciences with the Computer Sciences, and will be happy to host work in the Computational Social Sciences. The PhD candidate will take courses to strengthen their research skills as well as lay a deep foundation in knowledges in their area of work. A Comprehensive exam will then evaluate their readiness for research. Other research work includes but will not be limited to, publishing and presenting the findings in top rated journals and conferences. The candidate will also contribute to projects in related areas and actively participate in the academic and extra-mural activities of HSRG and the Institute.
