Program Description Vision We aspire to be a premier centre of higher education and research in Electronics Mission Educating our students and training them to excel in work and life Program Outcomes 1. Domain Specific knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, electronics to the solution of complex science & engineering problems. 2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex science & engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. 3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex science & engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations. 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions. 5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex science & engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations. 6. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice. 7. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings. 8. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex science & engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. 9. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change. 10. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments. Program Specific Outcomes 1. Professional Skills: An ability to understand the basic concepts in and to apply them to various areas, like Electronics, Communications, Signal processing, VLSI, Embedded systems etc., in the design and implementation of complex systems. 2. Problem-Solving Skills: An ability to solve complex Electronics Science and Engineering problems, using latest hardware and software tools, along with analytical skills to arrive cost effective and appropriate solutions. 3. Successful Career and Entrepreneurship: An understanding of social awareness & environmental-wisdom along with ethical responsibility to have a successful career and to sustain passion and zeal for real-world applications using optimal resources as an Entrepreneur.
Admission & entry requirements i. Any candidate who has successfully completed B. Sc. programme of this University or of any other statutory University recognized by UGC, New Delhi. ii. A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the M. Sc. programme, provided that candidate has successfully completed B. Sc. programme either with a principal subject or with a subsidiary/ interdisciplinary/ applied/ allied subjects and has passed entrance examination conducted by this University. iii. The merit list of admission for M. Sc., shall be prepared by considering 50% weightage of the performance at B.Sc. programme and 50% weightage of the performance at the entrance examination of this University.
