| Program Description | Program Outcomes 1. Students will be able to appreciate literary/linguistic developments of different countries and different periods. 2. Students will comprehend major trends, movements and ‘-isms’ and different critical/linguistic approaches. 3. Students will develop acumen to appreciate, interpret and critically evaluate prescribed texts. 2 4. Students will be able to interpret, analyse and evaluate different varieties of written and spoken English. 5. Students will be able to analyse unseen poem and prose stylistically. 6. Students will learn different approaches to syllabus design and methods of teaching. Program Specific Outcomes 1. The student will be well versed with the major literary trends and movements and schools of criticism. 2. The student will be acquainted with various schools of linguistics and applied linguistics. 3. The student will be familiar with research practices in language and literature. 4.
