| Program Description |
The department was established during the academic year 1998-1999 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of IT. The department, right from its formation, as been concentrating on preparing graduates concerned with issues related to their needs within an organization and social context through the creation, application, integration and administration of computing technologies. The department offers B. Tech. Information Technology, M. E Cyber Security M. E Software Engineering courses and Ph.D programme.
Six projects were submitted by the university under Smart Hackathon’17 digital Programming Competition launched by Indian HRD ministry, our students have the credit of contributing two of them. The department has organized workshops on Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics, Core Java Phase-I and Phase-II and Advanced Java Programming with an aim of knowledge sharing. As an effect of these programmes, our students got placed in reputed organizations like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, VDart Software Services, Mobius, Hexaware Technologies, Aegis services and Ivana Softtech.
The Soul of Young Revolutionary Info TechZ (SYRITZ) is the association of the department to enhance student experiences outside the classroom. ZEPHYR is the National level technical symposium recently organized by the department. The department has thirteen faculty members with most of them having completed their research. To respond to the challenges of changing technologies, two major emerging technological trends “Internet of Things” and “Digital India” have been incorporated in the curriculum.
Thus we are constantly running the good race to promote our students and staff towards their better future.
