| Program Description |
The department of nanotechnology was established in the year 2009 with an objective to ensure that all students are prepared for a haining success in society, work and life with excellent leadership qualities besides hairring willingness to serve the nation. The department offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs in nanotechnology as well as MPhil in biotechnology. The nine faculty members of the department are highly qualified, dedicated and efficient in various disciplines. Our focused areas of research include Material Science, Nanomedicine, Nano electronics and ferroelectric materials.
Four research laboratories with sophisticated instruments boost students to develop hands on experience along with their regular curriculum. The department library with around thousand books serves as a knowledge café to our students. Around seven Guest lectures were offered by eminent professors to enrich the knowledge of our students as well as faculty members during this academic year. Invited lectures and competitions are conducted regularly apart from teaching.
The department has signed MOUs with Department of Physical and Life Sciences A.V.V.M Sri Pushpam College as well as Dept. of Physics of Bishop Heber College to foster cooperation in education and research. The faculties are also involved in collaborative research with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. Our faculties are guiding and motivating the students to participate in seminars, project expo, technical competitions, etc. and have secured many prices at various levels.
