Program Description The Department of Computer Applications was started in the year 1994. The broad objective of the MCA is to prepare graduate students for productive careers in software industry/academia by providing an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. The program's thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented courses relevant to the latest computer software development. The program emphasizes the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications /networking and commercial problems. The courses offered in the department are Master of Computer Applications (MCA ) – 2 years, Master of Computer Applications (MCA ) – 3 years and Ph.D in Computer Applications. Department of Computer Applications has Eight Teaching Staff members. Seven Faculty members have been awarded the Ph.D Degree, and one pursuing Doctoral Programme (Ph.D). Our faculty has published 165 papers in national and international journals. Twenty six Research Scholars are doing Ph.D in our department. Apart from giving importance to academic performance, the department encourages participations in co-curricular activities to bring out the hidden talents of our students. Our Department prepares the students to face the challenges with courage and confidence and ensures the bright future.
