Program Description Marine Engineering course conducted in the University is approved by the AICTE, the Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India. This is a residential course and the students are provided with excellent class rooms, library, laboratory/workshop, hostel and mess facilities. Discipline, communication skill, team work, healthy attitude for social living, etiquette etc. are naturally imparted as part of the programme. As more than 90 % of the world trade is transported by ships, Shipping plays a major role in the world economy. This being an International Business with huge capital investment and environmental ramifications, the industry needs capable marine professionals to operate thousands of ships plying in the international waters. Therefore, the objective of the Marine Engineering Course provided in the University is to prepare and guide the students to become competent Marine Engineers whose demand is ever growing in India and abroad. It is a highly remunerative profession.
