The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1989 to fulfill the growing demand for professionals. The main mission of the Computer Science and Engineering Department is to create the best IT infrastructure, a world-class learning and research environment, and to instill moral and ethical values through industry collaborations. The undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering is primarily intended to prepare for careers in programming and system development. The student is expected to gain knowledge and abilities in both hardware and software technologies that are connected to computer science. The emphasis in the classroom is on both system and application programming. The special focus is given to soft skill subjects, software skills, logical skills, reasoning skills, and articulating different languages such as French and Japanese.
The department has been able to keep pace with the rapid technological advancements placed in the field of computer science. It has also an enviable academic record made possible by the relentless efforts of its dedicated faculty. The faculty is a perfect blend of different specializations in Computer Science and Engineering to impart their expertise in handling diversified courses of the UG and PG programs.
