Program Description M.Sc. Biotechnology, with a second year research dissertation of nine months:- From day one, students will focus on product or process development. The course will consist of 4 terms of about 6 months each. The innovative curriculum and distinctive pedagogy will put a strong emphasis on practical training, developing analytical skills, and critical thinking abilities to be prepared for the industry workplace, academia or entrepreneurship. Students will spend 50%, 75% and 100% of their time in the laboratories in the second, third, and fourth terms respectively. This research-based training is combined with a solid foundation in IT and quantitative skills, independent learning and study habits, communication, critical thinking, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship as well as ethics. This collective teaching approach will equip graduates with the skills to deliver solutions that have a tangible societal impact. Students will graduate with the entrepreneurial initiative to make a difference in local communities. The five choice-based M.Sc. Biotechnology specializations are available from the second semester. # The five specializations are Plant Biotechnology Animal Biotechnology Medical Biotechnology Industrial Biotechnology Environmental Biotechnology
Admission & entry requirements Eligibility: A. Bachelor's degree in any field of science/technology as a subject in a 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education with (i) A minimum of 55% marks for GEN/OBC (50% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, OR (ii) A minimum CGPA of 5.5 for GEN/OBC (5.0 for SC/ST) category on a scale of 10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than 10 (for example 5.2 for GEN/OBC category (4.8 for SC/ST) on a scale of 8). B. Only GAT-B 2023 qualified candidates, i.e., students who have scored above the declared cut-off category-wise and have their names on the official merit list of GAT-B as declared by NTA, shall be considered first for admission to M.Sc. degree programs at GBU. However, if seats remains still vacant after the GAT-B 2023 admission round, students who have successfully cleared or scored above the declared cut-off category-wise of JAM 2023 and after it if still seats are vacant, students who have successfully CUET PG 2023 and would be considered for the remaining seats after due approval from competent authorities.
