Program Description The 2 years full-time academic programme aims to impart education exclusively with different aspects of plant sciences starting from diversity of plants life, taxonomy, morphology, anatomy, physiology, ecology to molecular biology with both theoretical and practical exposure to the participating students with the existing laboratory and equipment facilities in the university. The skilled and motivating group of faculty members will be disseminating the modern scientific and technological know-how to the students. The four semester Continuous Evaluation Programme intends to give adequate exposure to each student with the frontiers of plant sciences enabling them for placement at national level institutes. Laboratory Facilities: There is a well-equipped M.Sc. practical laboratory with Digital Weighing Balance, Laminar Air-flow, Compound Microscope with LED Illumination, Bacteriological Incubator, Bactec 9050, Water Bath, Distillation Unit, Autoclave, Digital pH Meter, Hot Air Oven, PCR, Deep freezer, Gel Electrophoresis Unit, Vortex Machine, Hot Plate, Centrifuge, UV- Transilluminator and other necessary facilities.
Admission & entry requirements A student shall be eligible to apply for admission to MSc. Botany if he/she has completed a 3 years bachelor's degree with Botany as Honours or Pass subject from a recognized institution/University. Students appearing in the final qualifying examination may also apply. They are required to submit their qualifying degree certificate at the time of final admission.
