M.A. English programme aims to strengthen students’ analytical skills and introduce them to major critical and theoretical approaches. It allows students to specialize in specific areas of English literary studies, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the field.
A key objective of the programme is to equip students for advanced research, including doctoral studies for those pursuing an academic career. It also provides a strong foundation in literary studies for students interested in careers in publishing, editing, journalism, administration, management, communications, or high school teaching.
The curriculum includes core courses in Linguistics and English language, along with exposure to major genres, periods, and movements in English literature. Students are trained in literary criticism and theory and engage with comparative, contextual, and interdisciplinary perspectives informed by contemporary approaches to literature and culture.
